The mission of the Enfield Food Shelf is to ensure no Enfield family in need is without food assistance.
Listed below are the food assistance programs offered through the Enfield Food Shelf. Please check each program listed below to see which may apply to you.

- Weekly Food Assistance
- Open Shopping: Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon
- Open Shopping: Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Emergency Assistance available by referral, appointment or walk-in
- Open Shopping includes frozen meat, dairy, fresh vegetables, shelf-stable items, bread, drinks, snacks, pet food, baby food and diapers, adult incontinence products,
- Monthly Food Assistance
- Commodity Supplemental Food box available for qualified seniors
- SNAP Enrollment
- Through CT Foodshare by calling 860-856-4357
- Enfield Hunger Action Team
- Open to all community members interested in hunger-related issues in Enfield
- Works on a variety of projects and community awareness
- Meets from 2:30 to 3:30p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Asnuntuck Community College
- Enfield Area Community Resource Guide provided through this group
- Healthy Meals=Healthy Minds — Thanks to a MassImpact grant through MassMutual, Enfield Food Shelf and ERfC, have collaborated to form the Healthy Meals=Healthy Minds initiatives are working to “Grow Healthy Habits” for families of Enfield:
- Tonight in Thompsonville Dinners
- Next dinner April 18th
- Family Frisbee Jamboree
- Saturday, June 3rd, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Higgins Field
- Free to families, activities to include:
- Frisbee golf
- Other activities such as KanJam
- Lunch for all
- Summer Lunch Bunch
- June through August at St. Patrick’s Church
- Lunch for children and parents
- Free activities for children
- Backpack Program
- August at St. Patrick’s Church
- Providing backpacks and school supplies to area children in need
- August at St. Patrick’s Church
- SNAP Enrollment Assistance
- SNAP Enrollment Assistance available at every food assistance distribution of Enfield Food Shelf as well as at other Healthy Meals=Healthy Minds activities
- Tonight in Thompsonville Dinners
